New Normal: Reflections
Things are weird out there! I’m sure many of us are wondering what the new normal will look like, how we will adjust to it, and how we can help others. I myself have been wondering how I can help my community through these strange times. I do know how to help people through the energy work sessions I offer.
Most of us feel deep uncertainty around what is going on. This may be felt physically as pain, tension or anxiety. These feelings are toxic to our health so clearing them is very important! An energy work session helps clear, rebuild and strengthen your energy container, and in doing so eases the physical symptoms. Given the current emphasis on decreasing exposure, and our desire to do our part through social distancing, some of my clients are expressing an interest in converting their in-person sessions into distant work sessions.
The wonderful thing about energy work is that it is just as effective over a distance as it is in person.
Over the past few years, I’ve been doing more and more ‘distant’ energy work sessions – treating clients across north America and internationally. In a distant-work session we connect by phone, Skype, Zoom or FaceTime – whatever works best for you. The session is organized the same as it is for an in-person session. We start by having you tell me what is working and not working in your life. I ask clarifying questions. We develop and agree on a treatment plan for the session. We move step by step through the plan using different energetic modalities. I wrap up the session by giving you homework. The homework will help you integrate the session’s energetic shifts.
The New Normal Questions & Answers
I think the hardest thing to wrap the mind around is the idea that physical issues and feelings can be addressed energetically, and at a distance. I always appreciate and enjoy the surprise of first-timers who tell me they literally feel each step of the session’s energy work – in spite of the many miles between us. For me this is the wicked cool part of what I do. People feel better without having to leave the house. Some stay in their pajamas!
Consider a distant-work session as one of the tools available to help manage your adjustment to the difficult situation we all find ourselves in.
