Reflections on Maya Hands On Healing
I love to work with both the physical body and the energy body at the same time in a session. This is how true balance is created. When I first heard about the Maya Abdominal Massage techniques, I was very intrigued. These techniques were talking my language of body and energy.
The story begins with the American herbalist Rosita Arvigo. She developed this body of work to preserve the knowledge of Don Elijio Panti, one of the last surviving Maya healers from the rain forest of Belize. Dr. Arvigo created ‘Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®’ after her apprenticeship with this Maya healer. This healing approach is all about restoring the body to its natural balance and correcting the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and chi energy.
We are hosting ‘Hands On Health the Maya Way‘ with Christine Lee on October 27th. This one-day workshop will introduce both ancient Maya healing techniques along with instruction in the energy body.
Here are testimonials from two of the previous workshop’s attendees:
I experienced my introduction to Arvigo massage through Christine Lee’s clear & engaging teaching style. Her hands on, visual & concrete approach worked well for me. I love her reminder that “my hands are always with me”. The Arvigo massage helps me relax and is always available!
I found the Maya Abdominal massage workshop “Hands on Health the Maya Way“, taught by Christine Lee, to be extremely helpful! Christine is a wonderfully clear teacher who presents with kindness and humor. The history of how Dr. Arvigo learned from a traditional Maya healer and the ways in which Mayan massage positively affects the body are fascinating. When I am diligent about using the techniques taught in this class, I find a positive difference. I highly recommend this workshop!
I’ll be taking this class myself! See you there.
