Animal Energy Work: The Joy of Teaching and Facilitating
by Jen O’Leary-Chen
If you had asked me 3 years ago if I would ever consider teaching Reiki, I would have said no. I thought my path was to only treat and practice Reiki.
My thinking changed when I took Holy Fire Karuna Reiki training with William Lee Rand. In that class, he said that Holy Fire Reiki often guides people to teach. I was skeptical but kept an open mind. Shortly thereafter, the universe and a good friend connected me to someone interested in learning R
eiki. I almost said no, but feeling the pull to go in that direction, I put my nerves aside and my faith in Holy Fire Reiki and the Universe. That was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. When I agreed to teach this one person, the energy shifted and opened my world to teaching Reiki 1 & 2 regularly. Eventually, I began to teach Basic Animal Reiki and to facilitate Animal Reiki Study Groups. Each class creates a shift that opens another door to expand and this part of me that hesitates heals a little more. The expansion has allowed the opportunity as the Animal Energy program coordinator to come into reality. This coordinating position allows me to foster my passion and desire to help animals.
I never imagined that I would be helping so many people and animals to connect to Reiki. It’s amazing to see how Reiki heals others on a deeper level in classes. I love watching the joy and amazement when a student feels the Reiki flow through them to another person or animal. It’s beyond priceless to experience an animal “saying” thank you when they respond to the Reiki being offered by those attending Animal Reiki Study Groups.
I’m grateful to be able to allow others the opportunity to share the wonderful gift of Reiki and help make the world a better place. After all, isn’t that what Reiki is about, spreading love & joy & healing to all?
