Tuning forks are one of many sound healing tools. They are tuned to a variety of frequencies such as those of: organs, the brain, chakras, or planets. Some incorporate gemstones.
Everything vibrates at a unique frequency. Each of us as a unique organism has a vibration. Each of our systems (cardiac, respiratory, nervous…) and individual parts (heart, lungs, hair, cells…) have their own vibration as do plants, animals, the earth, planets, and diseases! Injuries like a sprained ankle or diseases disrupt the vibration of the tissues/structures in the area of injury. Tuning Forks are used to revitalize and balance target systems within and around our bodies bringing them back into resonant harmony with our innate vibration thereby assisting healing.
Tuning Forks are used on the meridians, acupuncture points, chakras, trigger points, the spine, joints, or off the body in our energy field. They can help relieve back and neck pain, stress, muscle tension. Acupuncturists can use them in place of needles. Many practitioners use them with other modalities. As a massage therapist I may find an area of tension in a client’s body that resists the manual release. Applying tuning forks to the area often changes the quality of the tension improving the effectiveness of manual techniques, or releasing it without further work.
Tuning forks are a great tool for personal use. They are easy to use and require only a general level of knowledge. They can be used in meditation and to clear energy in the home or office. They can also be used on animals. This is my friend Rascal. He comes with his human to her appointments. This week he got a treatment of his own and slept through her entire two hour treatment!
