Please find answers below to the following frequently asked questions. Before you come to the Healing Way Center, reading these FAQs may answer some of your own questions:

What can I expect in a session?

Before your session:

For your first visit to Healing Way Center, please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to fill out paperwork.  All information you provide will remain confidential.  You will be asked about your expectations for the session and a treatment plan will be suggested.

If you are here for therapeutic massage, you will undress in private to your comfort level. This means you take off as much or as little clothing as you like. Many people disrobe completely. This allows the therapist easier access to areas such as the low back and gluteal muscles. The choice is always up to you.

During your session:

During your session, your areas of concern will be addressed.  We will check in with you several times during the session to make sure that you are comfortable. Please let us know if you need any changes or adjustments made during your treatment (pressure, bolstering, temperature, music).

If you are receiving therapeutic massage, you will be on the table and draped at all times. Only the areas being worked on will be undraped, and then re-draped before moving on to the next area of the body.

Remember to breathe! It may sound silly, but your body will respond best to bodywork when you are comfortable and breathing with ease.

After your session:

After the session, you will be left in privacy to re-dress.  It is common to be sore for a day or two following a therapeutic massage.  If you have any questions or concerns, please fell free to call me.

It is important to drink plenty of water after receiving bodywork and/or energy work. To encourage this, water is always available to you after your treatment.

How often should I be getting bodywork or energy work?
The long term benefits of bodywork and energy work tend to be cumulative and are most effective when received consistently. How often you receive treatment is best determined on your lifestyle and goals.If you are experiencing an acute condition, a number of sessions close together (1-2 times per week or 1 time a week for 2-3 weeks) for the first few treatments may be your most effective option. This varies and is dependent on individual situations. The frequency of treatments is reduced as the condition resolves.If you live a physically active lifestyle, deal with significant levels of stress, and/or have considerable aches, pains, or tension, a weekly or once every other week schedule may be beneficial.For those leading a less active lifestyle, those with minimal stress levels, and people who are most interested in the benefit of relaxation, consider bi-weekly to monthly visits.
How should I prepare for an energy workshop?
An energy workshop helps you to reach a new, higher vibrational energy. You will enhance your aura and chakras, especially crown, heart and palms. Through this work your life will become stronger and more meaningful.Working with your energy can lead to a release of toxins from your physical, mental, emotional or spiritual aspects. To ease your energetic change, follow at least some of these steps:

  1. Refrain from eating animal protein for 3 days prior to the workshop.
  2. Consider a water or juice fast for 1-3 days prior to the workshop. Complete the fast the day before class by introducing soups.
  3. Minimize or stop completely:
    • Drinking caffeine – caffeine creates an imbalance in your nervous and endocrine systems.
    • Drinking alcohol.
    • Eating sweets – including chocolate.
    • Watching TV, listening to the radio, and reading the newspaper.
    • Smoking.
  4. Meditate for ½ hour each day for a week prior to the workshop.
  5. Go for quiet walks, spend time in nature, and get mild to moderate exercise.
  6. Give attention to the subtle impressions and sensations within and around you. Contemplate their meaning.
  7. Release negative emotions such as anger, fear, jealousy, worry, up to the light. Create a sacred space within and around you.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Currently, we accept cash, personal checks, & all major credit cards. Please note that there is a $30 fee for returned checks. Healing Way Center does not bill insurance companies at this time. At your request we can provide a receipt that you may be able to submit for reimbursement.
What are your cancellation and no-show policies?

Cancellation policy:

Bodywork and energy work are physically and emotionally demanding for both the client and practitioner. So as to provide our fullest to each of my clients, we allow only six sessions a day. As such, a missed appointment is a loss to us both, as well as to those who were unable to schedule an appointment at the time of their choosing. To allow other clients the opportunity to schedule if you are unable to make your appointment, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. For example, if your appointment is at 10AM on a Monday, you must cancel no later than 10AM the prior Friday. If less than 24 hours notice is given, you will be billed and asked to honor payment for the full amount of the missed session.

Being on time allows you to make the most of your session. If you are late for your appointment, your appointment will be shortened. For example: If you are 15 minutes late for an hour long appointment, you will receive 45 minutes of work and will be charged for the full hour.


If you are sick and have an upcoming appointment, please call 24 hours ahead of time and reschedule. Bodywork received at this time may only serve to make you feel worse. Listen to your body!


Any client under the age of 18 must have a signed parent/guardian consent form prior to any treatment. The parent/guardian must be on the premises at all times during the session. 

How do I give the gift of Bodywork or energy work?
Bodywork, Energy Work and classes make excellent gifts any time of the year. Look for specials offered around holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas. Gift certificates are available for purchase in person, by mail, or anytime online.It is easy to quickly and securely purchase a customized instant gift certificate that you can print out or email to someone special. Please note that discounts do not apply to gift certificates purchased online.
